Ohio Concussion Law

ATTENTION !!! TEAM BUSINESS ADMINISTRATORS / COACHES

According to the law, amateur youth sport organizations are required to make their coaches more aware of concussions including concussion training. Here is a link to the NFHS website for a free seminar on Concussion Awareness that will satisfy the new Ohio law. http://www.nfhslearn.com/electiveDetail.aspx?courseID=38000 It is a free seminar that lasts about 20 minutes. You will first need to get a username and password for the site (also free) and then sign up for the seminar. You will be able to watch and listen to the seminar right on the computer.

Concussion in Youth Sports: Ohio's Return-to-Play Law

Per ORC 3707.52 as enacted by Ohio HB 143 of the 129th General Assembly, the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) is required to create a concussion and head injury information sheet for participants in interscholastic activities and youth sports.

Once your full coaching staff is in compliance with both the Lindsay's Law and the Concussion Law. Team Business Administrators / Head Coaches ONLY; to find the "Concussion Training Compliance Form / Lindsay's Law Compliance Form" go to the Main Menu on the Home Page to League Forms. This form MUST be filled-out on-line by the Team Business Administrator or Head Coach ONLY (ASSISTANT COACHES DO NOT FILL-OUT THIS FORM) and electronically signed and submitted to the league before the March Spring meeting for your team.
