The board of directors of the Diamond League mourns the passing of Joe Perella, Jr.   He coached in the Diamond League from its organization in 1997 to 2002.  Afterwards, he was a member of the board of directors until 2007.

Joe coached the team out of Lydhurst originally named Midair Baseball from 1995-1998, then Parkhill Roofing from 1999-2000, and finally changed the name to the JP Lakers in 2001-2002.
